Federal Lawsuit Targets Saginaw County and Kochville Township Over Unconstitutional Property Seizure

A federal civil rights lawsuit has been filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan accusing Saginaw County and Kochville Township of orchestrating the unconstitutional seizure of valuable commercial property in Kochville Township.

Mockeridge v Alcona County: The case being undertaken by Outside Legal Counsel PLC stems from an unannounced, warrantless, and unconstitutional inspection. The United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan issued a 74-page decision finding that a scheme between a neighbor and three government officials to secretly enter privately-owned land, without a warrant, violated the Fourth Amendment. The key piece of evidence was a photograph taken at the time by the trespassing neighbor.
